A Living Will is a document that will explain to others what your wishes are for yourself during a medical issue, terminal illness, or a near-death event.  Family members who love you may try and make the decision they think is best, but you can have the opportunity to set in stone what you want to have happen in case you no longer can express how you want to preserve, or not preserve your life, a problem during a medical procedure, or irreversible coma.  One of the toughest choices or discussions to have during these tough times are discussions about whether or not to resuscitate, placed on a ventilator or to pass away in peace.

All these tough decisions can be easily laid out so no one but yourself, or your power of attorney, can decide on a life-ending procedure or a life-sustaining procedure in your Living Will.  Only in a near death situation does a Living Will legally answer the decision you have made.
